Founder of Sound Birthing + Creator of the Mind-Body, Birth™ Approach to Fearless Birth
I’m a psychologist, clinical social worker, and childbirth educator with a PhD in Psychology and a deep passion for helping people birth without fear. My research focused on improving birth experiences through science-backed, trauma-informed support—and I bring that same approach to every offering through Sound Birthing.
Training and Credentials:
- PhD in Psychology (National University)
- MSW + Animal-Assisted Social Work (University of Denver)
- Sex Therapy + Sexual Health Educator (University of Michigan)
- Zaagi’idiwin Doula
- 500+ Hours Yoga Teacher Training (Melissa Spamer, Angela Farmer, and Rama Jyoti Vernon)
- Certified Sound Therapist (Wind Willow Sound Health, Dr. John Beaulieu + Sage Sound)
“My work seeks to find the balance between traditional wisdom, current research and lived experience.”
“As a queer, 3rd-generation Ashkenazi woman with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, married to an Anishinaabe person, I understand how our unqiue identities shape our needs.”
Outside of work, I'm deeply involved in community service, sitting on several boards and volunteering at a wildlife rescue. My home is filled with love from my rescue dogs, Jack Burton and Rainbow Sprinkles, and my cats, Egg Shen and LoPan Cake. In my leisure time, I am an avid potter. I enjoy reading fantasy romance novels, writing, and exploring the world through travel and hiking.
I look forward to getting to know you
